The explosion in cryptocurrency usage and trading over the last 18 months has been immense. WIth a steep uptick in adoption, cryptocurrency’s popularity has brought other problems, most notably, data privacy and security issues.

According to Statista, in 2020 there were more than one billion data breaches. Overall, billions of dollars were stolen by hackers last year, and for crypto traders and users, keeping your privacy and data secure should be at the foremost of every mind.

For those unfamiliar with VPNs, now is the time to get familiar. A VPN (Virtual Private Network ) creates a private network from any internet connection thus giving you privacy and anonymity.

By using a VPN service, you are protecting your privacy by staying anonymous. That means that anyone or entity – be they hackers, governments, or any third party that wants to track you, can’t.

In the crypto world, although many exchanges make use of HTTPS end-to-end encryption, exchanges still suffer periodically from data breaches. What a VPN does is add that extra layer of protection needed to have peace of mind sending or transacting crypto coins.

What Does a VPN Do for You?

When you use a VPN service to transact a cryptocurrency, your data is encrypted, meaning it is harder to intercept.

Importantly, when using a VPN, the security it provides means you are protected against security vulnerabilities that are exploited by malicious viruses, malware, and phishing attacks.

A VPN service hides your I.P. address. This prevents anyone from tracking your crypto transactions even from governments and forensic analysis companies. If your exchange doesn’t have AML/KYC procedures, using a VPN service means you can have complete anonymity when transacting crypto.

Lastly, a good VPN service will not only not store your logs but will also have a kill-switch. No logs feature means the service provider does not collect your browsing data, whilst the kill-switch feature ends your internet connection without revealing your IP address should there be any connection issues.

If you are one of the millions of people buying and selling crypto or just transacting cryptocurrency, A VPN service is for you.
