The NFT (Non-Fungible Token) journey so far has been an interesting one. Appearing on the scene in 2014, this year saw the NFT world explode. When Michael Joseph Winkelmann, the digital artist known professionally as Beeple, sold artwork for $69 million the world woke up to the enormous potential of the NFT scene.

World-famous artists such as Deadmau5, Grimes Kings of Leon, Shawn Mendes, Steve Aoki, and Post Malone have all embraced NFTs. Whilst top artists are embracing and reaping the rewards of NFTs, it is actually the up and coming, unsigned and unknown artists that have to most to gain from NFTs.

Tirptcip, a UK-based startup, is a new creative NFT hub to be launched in July that provides an easy-to-use platform that helps electronic music artists create stunning visuals for their music and via auction, helps them generate an independent income stream. The exciting new NFT marketplace successfully fuses the creative world of electronic dance music with the increasingly popular world of cryptocurrency to give artists freedom, independence and income.

Using Void, a visual sequencing tool Void, musical artists are able to create responsive, customizable visuals for their music without the need for visual artists. Void offers more than 8,000 psychedelic visuals, that can all be professionally modified, mixed and looped however the music artists want. The impending expansion will also enable the integration of images, 3D models, and text, to give artists the freedom and the tools to create unique and exciting pieces.

Triptcip founder Mike Vercoelen, who founded two other music production related startups, Pitcch and Stereogate. said of the launch:

“Music artists are regularly forced to put their music on different digital streaming platforms with multiple layers of middlemen,”

“Alternatively, they have to accept exploitative deals from record labels in order to reach a broader audience or monetize their music. With the rise of NFTs and blockchain technology, established artists can receive long-overdue appreciation, new artists can be discovered, and music lovers can be involved in ways previously not possible.”

The Triptcip mission is to give artists the freedom, tools and liberation to create. Triptcip combines the continually innovative and evolving worlds of crypto and music, in order to level the playing field in the music industry further.

In 2019, the music industry was worth $19.1 billion with artists taking home only 12% of the pie. Thanks to NFTs in 2020, the music industry was worth $23.1 billion, but the artists take leapt to 34.1%.

Now, with the help of Triptcip, electronic music artists will have more support and more opportunity than ever before.
