A Force For Change: NFT ‘Silly Sheep’ Is On A Mission To Help Abused Animals Around The World

When creator and founder Manny Pachano ventured out to create his NFT ‘Silly Sheep,’ it wasn’t a sheep that sparked his inspiration, it was an owl.

Nearly two years ago, Pachano befriended an imprisoned baby owl named Bubu with a string attached to its leg near his guesthouse. Despite efforts to flee, Pachano would regularly find it dangling upside down; eventually, the owl broke free and fled its confined living quarters.

“I asked the owners to not tie Bubu again,” Pachano shared. “I explained to them my point of view – how upsetting it was to see such a magical creature chained down and not able to live its life freely as we do. They understood and decided to let Bubu free.” Pachano went on to describe how “most mornings, around five, I awake to find her cozying up in her favorite spot in the tree by my bungalow.”

Beginning as an homage to baby owl Bubu, Pachano and his friend soon realized his NFT creation resembled more of a sheep. Alas, Silly Sheep the NFT was born.

“Silly Sheep NFT came to be – commemorated to helping abused, neglected and endangered animals around the world, something that I’ve been passionate about my entire life,” Pachano revealed.

Nearly two years from that moment, there are now 5,555 Silly Sheep NFTs. 25 are hand-crafted, while the remaining are programmatically generated across different traits including background, skin, clothing, eyes, mouth and headgear.

“We have a massive roadmap with a vision to become an international entertainment brand that successfully connects visionaries across all creative fields together through high-end networking events and a community of top-tier creatives, entrepreneurs, crypto enthusiasts, and more,” Pachano said.

Silly Sheep NFT is a Solana blockchain-based NFT collection. Pachano and his team will mint the collection on their website with a three-tier minting roadmap.

2% of lifetime royalties will go toward social initiatives that work to help abused, neglected and endangered animals around the world.

23% of royalties will go toward their Flock Fund, a treasury of the proceeds that will go toward strengthening the Silly Sheep brand and manifesting its roadmap through powerful marketing initiatives, a fully doxxed dev team, and more.

Also in the works with Silly Sheep is an upcoming NFT stacking game, where shepherds can herd their sheep on their interactive digital farm and earn $WOOL tokens in the process. Upgrade your sheep with cool perks and gadgets from the Flock Shop.

Silly Sheep NFTs will be your membership pass to Silly Sheep’s exclusive Shepherds Club: a private, holder-only community with top professionals in fashion, art, music, dance, film, content creation, and other creatives along with entrepreneurs, digital nomads, NFT creators, and investors. Exclusive networking events will be held across major cities around the world for the Silly Sheep community to gather both digitally and in person. Holders get free access to the ThriveIn premium community via their ThriveIn app.

When asked how he defines success, Pachano said a “100% sellout at mint.”
