LegionPay, Co-founded by Andrew Anastasiou as a crypto payment gateway has rebranded as a full-service SaaS provider with its own gateway. The launch of the new product comes after the management team of the company decided that offering crypto deposits were not efficient enough of a service for its customers.
Speaking with Andrew Anastasiou, he explained to us that after careful consideration the Board of Directors had decided to implement their own bespoke payment gateway. The 31-year-old entrepreneur told us “My Co-founder and business partner brought an idea to the table that we just could not ignore, and the idea was to provide our merchants the ability to not only access crypto payments but to incorporate card acquiring and local payment solutions all from one simple integration”.
With the change in product line, customers of LegionPay can now access over 100 different payment methods via the gateway and integrate to multiple PSP’s and PI’s without the strenuous task of applying and integrating to multiple providers on their own. The service also removes the need to manage an IT and Integrations team, as, via a direct API, merchants can integrate with LegionPay and access their new payment methods all in one place.
An unofficial source also commented that the company seems to be eyeing up the integration of an “open banking” platform, meaning that customers of LegionPay will have access to online banking solutions via electronic money institutions. Andrew Anastasiou did not confirm this but did suggest that the gateway the company is implementing will have the ability to integrate a much wider variety of payment solutions than a normal gateway.
Andrew Anastasiou also commented “the goal for us to continue on our dream of creating a payments ecosystem that enables our customers to efficiently operate, without the requirement of having to continuously search for and integrate new solutions”
