In a volatile day of trading, Etehereum hit an all-time high whilst Bitcoin edged down from its own all-time high.

Although there was no negative Bitcoin news over the last 24 hours, the granddaddy of digital currencies pulled back from its record high as a round of profit-taking in BTC kept prices in check.

At the time of publishing, Bitcoin (BTC) is down 0.73%. trading at $61,128.50 as the cryptocurrency stabilizes between the $60,000 to $65,000 mark awaiting its next break past the key resistance point of $65k.

Elsewhere, the cryptocurrency was mostly in a sea of green, as positive bitcoin and crypto news kept the crypto markets in mostly bullish conditions.

According to reports out on Friday, the Russian cryptocurrency market has grown to hundreds of billions of dollars despite the absence of sufficient cryptocurrency regulation. Meanwhile, Tinkoff Investments (a major bank in Russia) head Dmitry Panchenko claimed that the bank’s brokerage portal is contemplating projects related to cryptocurrency investment.

Another positive bitcoin news out on Friday was the Australia Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has issued its response to the public consultation on cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) together with fresh industry guidance.

The Australian regulator published a set of regulatory requirements for funds looking to offer crypto ETPs, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and structured products. The move by the Aussie regulator follows months of an industry consultation that began in June.

Whilst Bitcoin edged lower, Dogecoin (DOGE) found itself under pressure on Friday. The meme coin had enjoyed considerable growth recently, as investors backed DOGE and the other dog-coin Shibu Inu. However, the steam had run out of the bullish run and was one of the few altcoins lower on Friday. At the time of writing, DOGE is down 5.80%.

Whilst Bitcoin and DOGE suffered on Friday, Ethereum, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency according to market cap, hit an all-time high on Friday as ETH continues to hit new heights following the Altair upgrade
